Neighs and Screams

January 11, 2016

Every day at SCREAM is a bloody good time, but these horses are really pitching some deadly dialogue. SCREAM Season 2 is going to be a killer!

(PS – That’s a personal best in my “murder words used as positives” record book!)

Bouquet of Emojis

January 3, 2016

Doing research for a new project about teen dating. Favorite pull so far: About 47 percent [of teenagers surveyed] said they flirted by “liking” or commenting on their crush’s content. One teen told Pew he just types “a bunch of emojis under her photo.

That teen is today’s version of ’92’s laziest Casanova who slapped U2’s greatest hits on a mixtape and called it a day.

Trailer for AWKWARD Season 4

March 17, 2014

Check out the trailer for AWKWARD Season 4! Seeing, hearing and experiencing snippets of dialogue and blips of scenes and stories that our amazing writing staff created is BLOWING MY MIND. All the ideas, discussions, and work we did in the bungalow has found its way out and grown up. It’s really real. Even shareable with friends. And this was only 1.5 minutes of it.

I’m gonna lose my mind when actual episodes air. Countdown to April 15th begins now!

Buzzfeed Hearts Our Showrunners

March 10, 2014

Loving this Buzzfeed piece about AWKWARD and our brilliant showrunners,  Chris Alberghini and Mike Chessler. I have adored working with Mike, Chris and the rest of the staff and can’t wait for everyone to see the amazingness I’ve been lucky enough to be a part of as a member of the writing staff. The new season broadcasts in April, but get a sneak peek of what’s ahead by checking out Chris and Mike’s interview:

Slow Glow with Olay

February 11, 2014

The Olay Regenerist Luminous “I Will Not Settle” video that I directed has officially launched into the interwebs with all its Jason Oldak-shot slow-mo glory and Cynthia Graner-produced perfection. Thanks to the entire cast (including VO talent Regina Taufen) and crew for being a part of this project!

Raising An Olympian: Tae-Bum Mo

February 7, 2014

Last summer, I traveled to South Korea to direct an episode of  P&G’s “Raising An Olympian” series. I’m incredibly proud of this short film about speed skater Tae-Bum Mo, Vancouver Games gold medalist, and his mother’s faith in her son’s Olympic destiny.

This amazing project gave me the opportunity to know an Olympic gold medalist, work (yet again) with the great Gabe Reiter, be patiently and perfectly taken care of by Cynthia Graner, collaborate with crazy talented DP Josh Franer, and tell an emotional story about the power of a mom’s trust in her child. Tae-Bum Mo is defending his medal in Sochi this week. I’ll be watching and rooting for him.

Here’s the interview complete with shout-outs to LISA’S ADVICE, Cameron Crowe and plate tectonics.

Tongie Nomie

January 28, 2014

Tongal is hosting an inaugural awards celebration (The Tongies) to recognize the outstanding creative work completed by Tongalers in 2013… and our Olay “Read My Face” commercial has been nominated for a “Best Broadcast Spot” Tongie! Congratulations to the cast and crew!

The nominations were made by the Tongal staff, but the winners are determined by public voting, which concludes on Monday February 3rd. To cast your ballot, 1) go here, 2) create a Tongal account (free and painless),  3) click your picks before Monday.

If the invitation — a viewfinder with hip slides re: event deets — is any indication of what to expect at the Tongie party, I see some classy ‘n sassy fun in our future.

Staffed on (Smash to:) AWKWARD.

January 22, 2014

I’m thrilled to join the ridiculously talented, hilarious, creative and inspiring writing staff of MTV’s AWKWARD! I am a fan of the show both as a former teenage girl and as a writer who loves nuanced characters, comedy, heartfelt stories, and foul language. So, please forgive me if my posts become even more scarce while I’m living in Jenna’s world for the next few months.
